The restaurant was fairly quiet at lunch on a Monday. The menu was filled with local dishes, specialising in Foie Gras. The specials were a collection of the best of local cuisine and local produce with a little twist for each. The Service was excellent, the waiters were knowledgeable about the food and how it was prepared and where the produce came from. They were happy to answer questions and suggest different dishes. We asked them for their suggestions on wine for the dishes we ordered. The selection of breads supplied with each course were delicious. The dishes were excellent and just what we wanted. Great Foie gras (A Hungarian specialty) and local cuisine, plus a specials menu with a new take on some traditional dishes. The wines were all local and were excellent as recommended by our waiter. But and there is always a but, the deserts were sublime. Excellent twists on traditional deserts. Delicious and amazing. The whole experience was great, I would highly recommend the Tigris Étterem Café. Fine dining, wonderful service, Great experience.
Wow, food and service excellent. Definitely recommend the selection of foie gras. The Hungarian cheeses were also very special and the venison was very tender. Outstanding experience. This restaurant is a must in Budapest!
This place is almost an entertainment the staff put so much effort into it! We there on a weeknight and the place was buzzing. We tried for 2 days to get in so book ahead. Food was brilliant and generous and the wines were faultless. This place brings flair to cooking and food and wine are Hungarian through and through. Go there!!
