It has been a few years since my last visit to Zarraffas on the Plaza. The coffee is still good and hot, and I was happy to find a delicious almond milk latte. It seems like there are different owners or management now. However, there was a bit of a mix-up with the orders and the two baristas did not seem to have a good system of cooperation. One item was delivered promptly, but there was a long wait for the second item. There were several people waiting for their orders, so there is definitely room for improvement in that area. Overall, the food was okay.
The staff at this restaurant need better training on how to make coffee. There was no crema and the milk lacked texture. Additionally, if you order a medium (small) coffee, it only comes with one shot and you have to pay extra for more. Most coffee shops automatically include double shots in larger sizes. I won't be returning here, as the neighboring Makka's has better coffee, as their sign suggests.
Zarraffas is like the hub of Sunshine Plaza to me, I usually walk past the Plaza, I tend to drink the coffee there while I wait for kids teens to finish their movie or shopping and after a movie it's just around... the corner from where I tend to park, so a nice way to finish a visit to the Plaza. Coffee and other drinks are always good, a range of snacks or small meals available and the service is always friendly and fast. You can sit outside and look over the channel or wave hall to the usual stream from familiar faces to the cinema. It's a great chill zone.
This is the McDonalds of coffee or the Australian adaption of Starbucks. The menu looks very much like starbucks and even the snacks on offer are very similar. Modelled in an African them the largest drink size is called 'masai ' so it is big. You...can also join their frequent sipper club which gives you a free drink on your birthday and you add up points to get a free drink very quickly. Good coffee, consistent but be prepared to stand in a queue during busy times.
