If you're craving KBBQ Honey Pig will easily be your new favorite spot! I came here on a Monday night with friends and had such a great time. We were seated right away and our table had the grill already on with kimchi and bean sprouts cooking. We ordered the special beef short rip (my favorite), pork belly, and beef tongue, and cold kimchi noodles. All the meat was fresh and paired so well with our side dishes! I loved having the meat with the cold noodles as it really brought out the rich flavors and was a good combo of the smoky meat and cold refreshing soup. We also ordered grape soju and fresh soju. The staff were very attentive and friendly! As our dinner was coming to a close, they used the extra side dishes: grilled kimchi, mushrooms, kabocha, and bean sprouts to make kimchi fried rice. It was SOOOOOO good and I loved how the fried rice soaked up all the leftover meat flavors and got crispy on the grill. Such a fun time with friends and good food!!!
It's been almost 6 years I didn't go to Honey pig. I think they changed a lot. I noticed most customers were young. I felt young generation vibe while I was eating. They like the korean BBQ grilled on the cast iron lid. Personally I do like to grill korean BBQ at the charcoal grill. You eat the meats either beef brisket, pork belly w lots of kimchi, bean sprouts, wrapped w rice cake paper. My hubby loves rice cake paper. He said, it is soft, fresh, tasty. You can ask the server to prepare kimchi fried rice at the end. Another special food mixed everything melted mozzarella cheese as a topping. Extra charge $3 ,for the cheese but fried rice is included when you order the meats.I want to give 5 stars but the foods are way salty foe me. It gives me the salty flavors everytime when I had the meats w little kimchi, bean sprouts even the kimchi fried rice. I need to add some more rice after I go back home for the next day lunch.ProsAmbiance: casual vibe, easy place to get together in family and friends.Price: affordable Drink: free soda if you check in on YelpConsQuality: meats are ok but the side dishes like kimchi, bean sprouts, and radish water kimchi are way salty.Floor: very slippery, I don't know why so slippery....?? Might be the BBQ grease splashes everywhere??? They need to fix it for the safety issue.Waiting list: they open at 4. You wait at least 20 to 30 mins. There is no waiting area, any shade areas, standing on the sidewalk in the hot Summer. Hot and tough waiting on the sidewalk.Service: 3 stars, the server grills the meats and serves for the customers but I did most of time.Overall, good place to hang out w friends, families especially on Friday night but it is so noisy.
Great food, excellent service. We ordered chadol and samgyupsal. they have a big large grill that you sit around. You cook the meat and vegetables there. The best part is at the end. The waiter comes and makes fried rice using the leftover bits of your food. Let the rice set a little and you get that nice crispy nurungji slightly burned rice at the bottom mmmmmmm.
Foods was good servers were fantasticWe really enjoyed everything here
