Thankfully, they accommodated me, but the owner admitted that if he had checked the reservations, he wouldn't have scheduled any painting at that time. Additionally, when I pulled out the sofa bed, I discovered quite a bit of trash underneath. Now regarding the restaurant: When I checked in, I specifically asked if I needed reservations for dinner, and I was told that it wasn't necessary since it was a slow night. However, I noticed the restaurant hours posted on the door indicated they were open from 5 to 9. When we arrived at 8:20, I was informed that the kitchen had already closed. When I pointed out the hours on the door, the response was that those were just the restaurant hours, but the kitchen closed at 8. I then asked the receptionist to call the owner, but to no avail. I reminded her that I was a guest at the hotel and that I had mentioned wanting to dine in the restaurant during check-in. This led to a shout match, and ultimately, we were turned away. Here are a few ways I think they could have handled things more effectively: 1. They could have made it clear when I inquired about dinner that the kitchen closed at 8 PM. 2. When we didn't show up, someone could have thought, "Hey, that older couple in the Guesthouse expressed interest in dining. Should I check on them?" 3. Upon our late arrival at 8:20, instead of ignoring our misunderstanding, they could have apologetically offered, "Sorry for the miscommunication. We’ll quickly grill a couple of steaks and prepare a small salad for you to eat in your room." Instead, we were met with condescension. By the way, we ended up having dinner at Los Aztecas Restaurant. We arrived at 8:50 (they were closing at 9), and they couldn't have been more welcoming! We were the only patrons there, but they served us graciously, the food was excellent, and I left a generous tip. In summary: I expect a certain level of graciousness and an emphasis on guest satisfaction at any hotel I visit. The lack of attention to details like checking for painting, inadequate cleaning, and poor treatment at the restaurant made it very difficult for me to recommend this hotel.
The rooms were spacious and elegantly decorated. The Pea Ridge room featured a luxurious soaking tub!
We stayed in the Pea Ridge room and dined at the restaurant, and both experiences deserve a full 5 stars! The room was cozy, clean, well-furnished, and incredibly comfortable. Dinner in the beautifully decorated dining rooms downstairs was delightful. We enjoyed the pot roast along with a side salad dressed with the delicious blue ranch dressing. We will definitely return to the Inn the next time we are in the area.
During a weekend trip to Buena Vista, Georgia, I had the delight of dining at the Town House Restaurant, and I couldn’t resist going back for a second visit. This charming inn is a perfect embodiment of southern hospitality and cuisine. The seafood buffet was outstanding and exceptionally priced given the quality and variety offered. You can truly sense the warmth, care, and meticulous attention to detail aimed at making guests feel at home. Make sure to wear your stretchy pants!
We had a pleasant dinner here overall. The house is beautifully restored, and the service is truly exceptional. However, the food fell a bit short of expectations. The seafood buffet offered good value for the price, but the country fried steak was overcooked. The sirloin was just average.
