The turkey BLT on a pulp roll was absolutely delicious, and you definitely won't leave this place hungry. The portion sizes are fantastic! I love this place!
Everything we ate was incredibly flavorful. The Brussels sprouts, club sandwich, South Red Eye burger, spiced fries, and shiny were all excellent. The only dish I wasn't fond of was the sunrise mimosa, as it was a bit too sweet for my taste, haha. I'm really glad we decided to stop here!
I was greeted within a minute of sitting at the bar, and after browsing the menu, I decided to order the market salad with salmon, the “Wafflewich” (essentially a waffle sandwich), and one of their more popular dishes. My food arrived in a timely manner, and the service was warm and attentive, even though the single bartender seemed a bit stretched with the number of customers at the bar. The lemon thyme dressing on my salad was quite tasty and served on the side, which I appreciated. The salmon was cooked well, although I would have preferred it medium rare, especially when paired with salad or as a main dish. A bit more seasoning on the fish would have been nice, but overall, I enjoyed the freshness of the greens and the overall flavor. As for the Wafflewich, I would have liked the waffle to have more color and seasoning, while the sandwich filling could have used a bit more flavor for my taste. Nevertheless, the taste, temperature, and portion size were quite satisfying. The coleslaw on the side was mostly crisp and fresh, although I did notice it was a bit swimming in dressing by the end. The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the apple cake, which caught the attention of nearby patrons at the bar. The challenge of finishing it was easily met. The cake crust was buttery without being overly so, the apples had a nice texture that complemented the cake well, and the ice cream remained cold throughout my meal—a delightful way to end. The total bill was around $35, which I felt offered great value for what I received. I might be tempted to try more items from their menu the next time I find myself in this area of the Commonwealth.
