Feedback gevenThe menu is rather short, but there are items from the danish cuisine and some other plates very well conceived and elaborated. Presentation is very nice too. Highly recommended. Price for lunch is a joke. Main dish, beverage and desert is $250 (U$S 16). On weekdays it is crowded for lunch, so make reservations.
A group of colleges went to the Club Danes, which is situated in the same building like the Danish Embassy on the 12th. floor. There is a very nice view from the windows and capacity for about 60 persons. The restaurant offers lunch service, which contains the dish of the day and several other warm and cold options. We went there in order to celebrate a traditional Danish "Christmas Lunch" (julefrokost), as the group comprised people from Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, Holland and Argentina. The service is very friendly and the chef speaks Danish as well as Spanish. We ordered "smørrebrød", which is special Danish black bread with different types of toppings...as it is a daily tradition in Denmark. I ordered 2 pieces and they were nicely prepared and tasted delicious...almost like being home in Denmark again...;-) The rest of the group ordered different options from the menu, and all were more than satisfied. The prices are very fair and I will absolutely recommend all to go there....!! I will be back soon....
Not the smorgasbord that I was expecting, but fast and friendly service, inexpensive herring and lox sandwiches, and a generous glass of good organic white wine for an absurdly cheap 18 pesos, all adds up to make this a fine weekday lunch option. Especially if you're tired of meat. It was day one for us in Argentina, and I was already tired of meat.
The Danish Club is a hidden treasure in Retiro, Buenos Aires. The traditional Danish dish of the day is always fantastic, make you want to be a Scandinavian forever. It is a very good option for peopel working in the area to change the delivery and take-away routine. My only complaint: kind of noisy... you cannot have a normal conversation there!
Set in Retiro, the 'Club Danés' (Danish Club) is only open weekdays from 10am to 3pm. You can try some danish dishes like Biksemad and Smorrebrod. Also, there are 4 different daily options to choose from, they include drinks and coffee and cost around $120 pesos. It has an amazing view of the river and the docks, and the waiters are really nice. Its a nice place to have lunch or meet with someone. Get there early (or late), becouse it gets full fom 1pm to 2pm!
