La Aguada - Buenos Aires

Our AirBnb host recommended this spot to us, and she did not let us down! You have to ring a bell to get in as they keep the door locked (very confusing), but once inside it has a homey, warm atmosphere. They boast that their empanadas are the best, and they were certainly the best I had in BA! (Note: tons of vegetarian empanada choices too!). Their menu was extensive, featuring rural dishes, which was a nice change from upscale steak houses. They had plenty of veggie-friendly entrees too. I definitely recommend eating here!

We were meeting friends early. I believe this restaurant opens at 7 PM. Interesting menu, the empanadas were terrific, just the right amount of filling and not too bread-y. CASH only. Located in Recoleta. Prices were moderate.

We had a lovely dinner at La Aguada. It was such a relief to have a vegetarian dinner after days of traditional Argentinian food with lots of meat. This small and comfortable cafe offers vegetable stews and tartas in addition to meat based dishes we started off with a fresh salad and the recommended wine - a Don David Malbec. Everything was delicious and the wait staff delightful.

Had an awesome steak and potatoes dish, topped off with a nice espresso. Service was really good from Nicholas and the food was well priced. Will be going back during my stay here!

Loved this little traditional Argentinean restaurant. Tried a variety of empanadas which were all really good and highly recommended. The atmosphere itself is warm and welcoming and will find all these quirky items collected by the owner adds a nice touch. The service again was great, felt welcomed and was attentive. Overall would love to go back and would recommend La Aguada to anyone as a must!
