This restaurant was recommended by our tour guide during our visit to the neighborhood of Recoletta in Buenos Aires, it is an Italian Restaurat with a variety of seafood, pastas, meats, salads, breads, soups and desserts, and an extended variety of cocktails and wines, a I noticed that there were many locals, actually I think we were the only tourist in the restaurant, which I think is a very good thing (and one of the first things I look for when I go into a restaurant when I'm traveling) they ask you if you want to taste a glass of house wine which I accepted, and liked too, the first thing they brought was a warm bread basket that was very tasty and they serve it with an anchovies dip that I really liked , and another one made of lentils that was also very good, the minestrone soup was ok, my husband ordered taggletone with frutti di mare and I ordered the 3 mustard sauce filet and saulted veggies, it was soooooo good, for dessert we had a warm apple pie and vanilla ice cream and a cappuccino, everything besides the minestrone soup is worth the price, I truly recommend it if you love meat, pasta and wine and are looking for a good Restaurat in Buenos Aires.
We had a reservation made by our hotel. Service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant has some evidence of carelessness in the installations. The window's brass elements had been cleaned but al the smeared cleaning paste had been left on the surrounding wood. Since I was facing the window, that was something that attracted my attention all the time. The pepper mill didn't work. The menu is somehow limited if you are not having pasta. Gluten-free spaghetti (only) was offered when inquired but that is not mentioned in the menu. We both had steak with vegetables but were not up to the standard of a steak prone and expert country as Argentina. I understand they are run by the owners of El Fervor, a great steakhouse 2 blocks away. My appetizer was a Caprese salad with a dry-mozarella portion and no basil.Excellent wine list. The best Argentinean wines are expensive. We had a wonderful Malbec from Catena Zapata Alta.
We went there for a late lunch - had the salmon and the fish of the day. Both entrees were great. Ambience is good, waiters were polite and we were happy to get this service after 4 days of crappy service elsewhere
This restaurant came highly recommended by multiple sources. The setting is very quaint and reminiscent of a small Italian restaurant one might find in Milan or Florence not on Avenue Libertad in busy Buenas Aires. The service was friendly and prompt. The eggplant starter and great bread basket set the tone for what was hoped to be a great meal. All in all, the pasta dishes had great flavors and sauces but the pasta itself was undercooked and a bit too thick; a disappointment to say the least for a place known for its pasta.
