I was eager to try out this new restaurant in my neighborhood, especially since its name suggested that it would serve the best soul food I've ever had. Unfortunately, my experience didn't quite live up to my expectations. While the fish was truly incredible, I found the greens and rice to be subpar and couldn't even finish them. The mac and cheese was decent but had an odd spicy flavor that didn't quite hit the mark. The fish tacos were also just okay. I plan on giving this place another chance and trying different dishes, but I will definitely order the squid again, as it was the standout dish on the menu.

I had the opportunity to visit a taste of soul for the first time last week. although I try to eat more healthy home cooked meals most days, I have black restaurants once a month. I had a wonderful experience. the staff was very friendly. I ordered the 6 pieces of family meal (6 pieces roasted chicken, mac and cheese, crowned greens, maisbrot, cake and frizz) the price was appropriate. the chicken was seasoned and perfectly roasted. the mac and the cheese were very good. the hornbrot was very good. I liked it wasn't hard, more a cake consistency. the cake was good. the crowned greens were very salty. I had to throw them out. the stamp was too sweet. I had to pour it out. I hope that was one. However, if this is the normal spice, I would humblely recommend that the spices and sugar/ice are cut back again. it is very unhealthy. Thank you.

Edit: the owner cook is the definition of unmut. if a decent amount of their customers think they are rude. the case has already been made. there is nothing sanitary at this place, I had to sit on a chair next to a table because the chairs on it lol. I was uneasy the second I went to this place because the vibes were already gone. the place is dirty, why I wanted to use the toilet room. if they want to eat from someone who lies about it, be my guest. Maybe they confused me with the woman who was in front of me who asked this question. simple mistake, but their delivery is wrong. they do not exist on a mental disorder such as therapy or self-help books. being nonsense doesn't get you anywhere, being friendly, takes you anywhere. bless you, they would avoid, unless they want to deal with an rude owner and bad customer service. after a few sips of a drink that tasted like it was bad I asked politely if I could extinguish it. the owner said they already opened it.” yes, I opened it and it tasted as bad. I have the backpack chicken and it was so good that they uploaded my container. I have green beans, yams and mac n bees. that mac n bee a 10/10 and they don't be good vibes when I go there when eating it is worth waiting
