The calzones there are made the way they're supposed to be—unlike the one I had last night from The Italian Village, which had raw dough inside and a burnt bottom! It was definitely not the delightful calzone I was hoping for. Oh well! I guess I’ll just stick to dining at the Yelling Goat whenever I’m in the Buffalo area for work. They consistently serve great food.
Vegetarian options: Most dishes are meat-free unless you choose to add meat. Parking: Convenient access to the building with free parking available. Kid-friendliness: My kids would definitely enjoy eating here.
This restaurant offers some of the finest quality food available in Amherst. The only frustrating aspect is that we are never able to order lunch during work hours. Although their stated opening time is 11 AM, whenever we call to place an order at 11:30, we’re told they can't take lunch orders that early due to being overwhelmed with catering requests. The gnocchi was ok but doesn 't even come close to the scratch made gnocchi at vault 647 or the billy club. based on the texture I couldnt have distinguished this from Wegmans fresh gnocchi in the refrigerated section. Very similar taste and texture. The sauce had a good flavor but a hint of a sweet aftertaste. Im hard pressed to believe that the sauce at this place is made with only fresh produce, (I highly suspect the tomatoes are from a can or at least they 're using tomato paste from a can, it just didn 't have the same taste or consistency as when a sauce is made from 100% fresh produce and herbs. People have different interpretations of from scratch but for me that means using only fresh produce and nothing from a can or jar) The pizza that was on display looked like something that you 'd find in the crypt keepers mansion. Which would explain why it didn 't look like they had sold any, it looked about a week old and completely dried out. I was super excited to try the garlic knots and those were completely disappointing! bland and flavorless, both my friend and I took a bite and just spit them out and said it 's not even worth the calories. The texture of the bread was soft but it was just completely flavorless, it appeared to have some type of oil brushed on it with minced garlic, but again I presume it was garlic from a container and not minced from fresh cloves. it was just utterly bland. Perhaps if they had used salted butter on top of the knots with fresh garlic, it would have added a little more flavor. Also, the door was propped open so there was a bee that was flying in and out, it wasn 't bothering anybody but the two teen girls working at the register were focused on killing it with an electrified swatter, not because they were allergic, but because they were scared of bees, that was very upsetting to see since protecting bees is especially important. Definitely not a place I would go back to. If you want scratch made gnocchi thats amazing, with incredibly soft pillowy texture, try the vault 647 or the billy club. If you want mediocre pasta and flavorless garlic bread this is the place for you.
