We have been a few times at the Coffee cup Fort DUNREE the last time this Nov. its nice and relaxing and a lovely lady to greet you with a smile the owner ,Sitting by the front window you have a lovely view over lough SWILLY and at the back relax in comfort a homely feel .. The coffee is good, a good mug full , there is lots of snacks and light meals and good parking in the grounds of the fort free, So go and enjoy a good walk round and see breath talking views, then go and relax in the coffee cup and talk about the beautiful views .When you leave going out to the road turn left and by the grass bank, fence just park and walk on the grass path to a beautiful sandy beach , also a coffee cup in BUNCRANA and at Neds point just outside the town it has great views across lough SWILLY and its on a beautiful coastal path leading up to lovely sandy beaches you can walk from the town not far you will come to the lifeboat station at Neds point go walk along the path two more lovely sandy beaches the best at end of walk. I recently visited this restaurant with my husband, who had been staying at home since March. Unfortunately, there was no social distancing between tables, the staff were not wearing masks, and there was no contact tracing in place. The restaurant was busy, so table cleaning was sporadic between customers. We did not feel safe and as a result, did not enjoy our sandwich and scone, which took 45 minutes to arrive. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of businesses taking extra precautions for their customers, but unfortunately, this restaurant fell short. We will not be returning.
Amazing cakes and ice cream. Recommend the choir buns. Definitely worth a visit just for those. Very friendly and helpful
I stopped by for a quick coffee and snack. The place was impeccably clean and the lady serving was very friendly. I had a delicious warmed scone with cream and jam that tasted fresh and amazing. My husband enjoyed his sausage roll as well. I was impressed by the minimal use of plastic - the food was served in cardboard boxes with wooden cutlery and drinks came in paper cups. The toilets were very clean and the decor of the restaurant was lovely. I would highly recommend The Coffee Cup to anyone visiting Dundee Fort.
