Ambience was quite nice. Food average and small portions. Staff were pleasant however untrained, which would be fine if the service matched the bill…which was $1000.00! Very disappointing as a visitor to Ballarat as I’ve dined in Michelin star restaurants and the bill was not even close to that. Nobody ate the desert, the combination of chocolate, parsnip and mushroom were unpalatable. Waiter took away plates without asking if we had enjoyed the meal, despite the plates being barely touched. I have a large influence around dining in Victoria and unfortunately the shared table, didn’t make the cut. The food was a total let down, we all left hungry.
Had 53 family and friends gather to celebrate our wedding yesterday at The Shared Table in Buninyong. As always, the food was spectacular and the backdrop was amazing. But, what we are still in awe of today was how brilliantly smooth the day run, thnaks to Di and her amazing staff. The guests have not stopped complimenting us on our choice of venue and how well catererd they felt. Vegan, vegetarians, pescatarians and the flexitarians were treated to a sumptuous meal, with matched wines and drinks served seamlessly. We used the outdoor area for canapes and the ceremony; then moved indoor for the feast and speeches, ending the night with a dance floor like no other! We cant thank you enough for making our day so special.
The food was sensational. The knowledge of the ingredients and processes was explained which added to the overall appreciation of that extra effort they go to. Would highly recommend for anyone who appreciates fine dining and great local wines. We advised in advanced that one of our table was pescatarian and they cater to her needs with the same high quality as the rest of the menu. We will be back next time we are Victoria.
Great night. Food was awesome with perfect portions. Our requirement for vegetarian, FODMAP and normal was not an issue. Table service was excellent. I don’t think Katie Halst could have gone to the same place?
