In Burg im Spreewald, a lot of ice is tasted in beautiful weather; You can see many of the ice salons sitting in front of you with ice cups and walking around in your hand with ice cream. We made no exception on our holiday in Burg and enjoyed an ice cream in the waffle every day. There are many ice salons in Burg and we have already tried some. The Urban’s became one of our favorite ice cream cafés, because there were a variety of really unusual and special varieties, also several nuts and fruit ice cream – we all tasted very good and really delicious, not too sweet and really intense in taste. The most extraordinary variety was: cucumber ice cream. This was, of course, not made from the acidic cucumbers typical for Spreewald, but from fresh cucumbers. This ice cream was also excellent for us. However: The ice varieties varied from day to day. On a day when I preferred a fruit ice cream, I saw that there is a hazelnut and that wanted to know for the next day – but then there was no such variety a day, for other tasty varieties; I chose a poppy with Marzipan. On a sign in front of the shop it is pointed out that the milk for the ice-biomilk comes from a farmer from the neighboring city and is also very much respected for sustainability. The ice costs EUR 1.20 in the Urban’s by sphere (as of June 2020), which is a typical price for the castle. But I have to add that we only had ice in the waffle there, so no ice in the cup. We did not sit there to eat the ice there, but we licked it further – what we prefer in the times of Corona today. Therefore, I cannot say anything about the cosiness of the seats, nor about the presentation of ice in the cup criticized by another critic. We had nothing to complain about, so full 5 stars for this delicious ice cream.

It's not the best ice I know, but it's something else. Because you get varieties I don't know in Berlin Gar, for example Grukeneis. I think the ice could be creamier. But in the ice business, the cream is not the special choice and variety. The bullet could be bigger for 1€.

Ice as it must be. Here the ice is made from the ingredients of the region. My favorite is still the quark with linseed oil. Here, too, there is a wide selection of delicious ice creams. Even cucumber ice cream is offered here which fits very well to the Spreewald. Service also here 1A. Very well visited. That has something to say.
