The food was well-prepared, and the portion sizes were typical for a Mexican restaurant. The staff was friendly, and the prices were quite reasonable. The flavor of the food was enjoyable, and I have no complaints on that front. However, I have to note that it didn't quite feel authentically Mexican. Having lived in Central America for seven years, visited Mexico multiple times, lived in southern Arizona, and dined at many Mexican restaurants across the USA, I found it lacking in authentic flavors and dishes. Nonetheless, we plan to return to try other menu items. If you're looking for genuine Mexican cuisine, you might want to consider other options. I will update this review after my next visit.

We were eager to dine here during our visit with friends in the area. The restaurant was bustling (it was a Friday night), but we were seated quickly, and our food arrived just 10 minutes after we placed our order. The staff was friendly, and the food was excellent. You won't be disappointed!

The atmosphere features typical Mexican decor and a lovely bar area. The food quality is above average compared to other casual Mexican restaurants.

Great food. Fast service. Free chips and salsa. Excellent guacamole. Good margaritas. Many menu options including combo plates and a la carte options are ideal for trying new dishes or parts. Our favorite menu item is the beef Chimichanga, but we look forward to finding other items.

A little taste of Mexico right in south central Kentucky! The new restaurant is really great, definitely an upgrade! The food as always is amazing and the staff is friendly. Love El Rey!
