Cook Out - Burlington

The Cookout on Church Street in Burlington has unfriendly staff members taking orders.

I've had issues with my order the last three times I've been here. On my most recent visit on February 8, 2024, at 8:01 PM (order #1328), I ordered and paid for a Double Cheeseburger tray, but instead received a small hamburger. The cashier was Savannah.

During my visit to the restaurant, I felt a bit rushed while placing my order, even though there were no long lines and no cars behind me. When I reached the window, the staff handed us one of the shakes upside down. I requested ranch dressing, but they informed me they didn’t have any available. While the food is typically hot and delicious, this time we ordered seasoned fries, and they were overly salted to the point that they were practically inedible; it felt like the lid had fallen off the seasoning jar.

I love cookout and sometimes it is fine. But this last time, I paid for a whole chicken quesadilla for my boyfriend’s cookout tray. He did not get it. And they didn’t even give double fries for not giving quesadilla. Everyone in there was in such a rush looking through the window and they weren’t even busy. The man who handed the cashier our trays (that had food sticking out of it) was not wearing gloves.
