Menu was as expected for a pub. We ordered the basics, burger, wings and a club sandwich. Delicious! Food was bang on. Beer selection is great and the bar is a great place to sit and chat. Definitely a locals place to hang out, it's been around for 30 years. Definitely worth a visit.
We stopped here for beers on a Sunday funday. The bar is well-stocked and the service is friendly. A variety of bar munchies are offered to soak up all the alcohol, too.
We lucked out by getting a table on the patio on a hot Friday evening. The fish and chips and the quesadilla special was good with decent portions and reasonable prices. The service was not the best. We had to go into the restaurant to get someone to wait on us, call over our waitress to place our order and go into the restaurant to request a refill on our drinks. The restaurant was not busy and the staff were chatting at the bar instead of serving the customers.
The Poacher is the best little pub in Downtown Burlington. Food is good, plentiful and reasonably priced. There is always new beer on tap (with a guest tap every month) and even a good selection of wine. While it isn't the newest establishment and the furniture is a little dated, if your looking for good food and a good time, try the Poacher.
Another pub I frequent. Fantastic pub food with a large assortment of drafts on tap. Ciders also for the gluten intolerance. Always friendly staff and locals that accommodate us. Top rated for me is the fish/chips, curry and burgers.
