Chongqing On Kingsway - Burnaby

I've been going to this restaurant for years, and the service has always been exceptional! The portion sizes are generous and very reasonably priced. The staff is consistently friendly and eager to help. My friend and I ordered soup, and the server pleasantly surprised us by bringing small bowls and pouring the soup for us right at the table, without us even asking for it. I requested quite a bit of chili oil, and to my delight, the server gave us much more than I anticipated, which gave us both a good laugh. Even though I sometimes felt a bit demanding, they made me feel completely comfortable. The server even brought napkins over without me having to ask. When it was time to settle the bill, the manager came by to check if I needed more tea or water. Their attention to detail is outstanding; it’s almost as if they can read my mind. I left feeling very satisfied with the service—definitely a perfect 10/10!

The Seafood Crispy Noodles certainly lived up to its name, as they were quite crunchy. The dish included two prawns, two small fried fish, two pieces of chewy squid, and several eraser-sized scallops, along with some Bok Choy. While the sauce on the noodles was tasty, the seafood itself was disappointingly bland. I suspected that the sauce had been overly thickened with cornstarch, as it became almost jelly-like by the end of the meal. One aspect I appreciated was the attentiveness of the staff. There were three servers consistently moving around, clearing and cleaning tables. They also had their own printed napkins. To top off the meal, you receive a fortune cookie, which reminded me of my visits to their Broadway location back in the 80s. It’s not often you see fortune cookies offered in Chinese restaurants these days.

The portions at this restaurant are massive! I was blown away by the amount of food we got. We definitely ordered too much because we didn’t know how big the sizes were; with just four of us, we ended up getting seven dishes, haha. The food came out quickly, and the service was also very efficient. I will definitely come back when I'm in Vancouver. The food tastes as great as it looks!

The food is outstanding, and the waiter is exceptionally friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant!

We had a wonderful family dinner here last night and had a fantastic time. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the food was delightful. The deep-fried squid was exceptional, and their hot and sour soup has been a family favorite for years. Thank you for a lovely experience!
