I started with the Appetizer Sashimi at this restaurant, which included two pieces of salmon, one piece of red snapper, and two pieces of tuna. The salmon sashimi was incredibly fresh and had a rich, buttery flavor that was absolutely delicious. It was also sliced to the perfect thickness. The red snapper sashimi, however, was lacking in smoothness and flavor. The tuna sashimi was well-balanced and had no fishy taste, making it a standout dish.
I didn't expect much since I was just looking for a quick meal, but this restaurant exceeded my expectations. I ordered the scallop tataki roll, which was a California roll topped with raw scallops and a tasty sauce with a slight torching. It was freshly made and so delicious that I wished I had more time to savor it.
Kita Sushi consists of two restaurants with the same name, located just a city block apart. The reason for this separation? The previous sushi restaurant, "Teriyaki Boy," wasn't successful. Instead of starting from scratch, Kita Sushi decided to stick with what works. They took the success of their original location and expanded it into a second, larger restaurant. Both locations have a similar setup, with empty showcases for sushi, shelves stocked with containers, a self-serve drink fridge, free hot tea, and various Japanese decorations like sumo wrestler banners and lucky cats. The seating consists of small wooden tables surrounded by booth and bench seating, with a reusable container of soy sauce at each table. Overall, Kita Sushi offers a traditional Japanese dining experience.
