So it works perfect for me as I don't like eel. Mango roll was a tad sour... and couldn't taste the scallops at all. Tuna aburi good. Dragon roll good. Lots of double prawn tempura in each roll (except mango and caterpillar roll). A tad pricey. Too bad their menu online doesn't specify what each of their special roll contains. But the actual menu at the restaurant (which also looks new) specify what each special roll contains. So that helps when deciding which roll to order. Wish they would do 10% discount for take out or collect stamps where you spend certain amount so you can get discounts after many frequent visits. Lack of marketing gimmick
The lunch combos at this restaurant are a great value! It's a good sushi spot in the area without having to go all the way to North Road. The portions may not be as large as Sushi Cali, but the quality has been consistently good during my visits. I usually opt for the Gen Tart or Sashimi Tart for a satisfying lunch. The spicy dishes tend to be overly saucy. The Hurricane roll is tasty, but very large. The service is friendly, though it can be slow during peak hours, so it's wise to plan ahead. Parking may be challenging, it's probably best to park in the mall and walk up.
Wonderful service, Amazing food and ambience.<br/ <br/ <br/ <br/ Ive always walk past this restaurant and gave it a first try today. As soon as I walked in everyone greeted me with a big smile! I had trouble choosing what I wanted since there was so much good looking stuff on the menu, but the waiter came over and let me know of the most popular items they had and made it easier for me. The kani sake tempura literally melted as soon as I put it in my mouth, its one of the best things Ive ever had in my life! AND OMG THE SPICY AGEDASHI TOFU!! No words for it my friends, just enough of spicy and a pinch of sweetness to go along with it. The rolls i tried were all amzing as well, best sushi in this neibourhood! If you are in the lougheed mall area give Sushi Gen a try, you wont regret. I honestly thought itd be another boring old sushi joint, but the quality of the food is sososo much better than that Sushi California.<br/ 10 out of 5 for Sushi Gen!<br/ Hope all you sushi lovers take my advice and go try this place ASAP cus I know ill only be going to this place when Im in the area!
Love the gen tower! awesome customer service : very friendly manager
This restaurant offers fantastic sushi, top-notch service, and affordable prices. I have visited over a dozen times since they opened and have consistently enjoyed my experience. The sushi rolls are elegantly presented and flavorful, with delicious sashimi and nigiri options. Their bento boxes are also a great deal. This place is a hidden gem in the Lougheed area and I highly recommend it.
