Yogen Fruz - Burnaby

Yogen Fruz has been a Canadian mainstay since the late 1980s, opening its first shop in Thornhill Ontario in 1986; however, I only got introduced to it in the very late 90s (probably around 98-99.) Until then, I'd enjoyed the frozen yogurt treats offered by Good For You. Up until the late 90s, Good For You could be found in the greater Vancouver area and the Fraser Valley. What set them apart was the fact that they used real fruit in the composition of their frozen yogurt treats -- something often not done in the United States (which I found out on one of my first trips to Las Vegas, for instance.) And then Good For You just. . .vanished; or, rather, they turned into Yogen Fruz shops. I can only assume that Yogen Fruz bought them out. Be that as it may, I was pleased to learn that they're keeping the Good For You tradition alive -- using fresh fruit (an abundance of it) and, in recent years, expanding their offerings with the likes of smoothies and the very interesting "U Sensations" (frozen yogurt versions of popular desserts).That said, I always make Yogen Fruz a MUST STOP when in the Burnaby/Metrotown area. The quality of their product just cannot be beat, in my view. I mean, sure, Metrotown also hosts the trendy Qoola frozen yogurt bar, but they just do not compare.Often imitated, never duplicated. . .For a refreshing and semi-healthy snack treat while wandering the mall, Yogen Fruz just cannot be beat.

Been here many times over the years, they never disappoint! Good froyo all the time, whatever you order. My favorite are the fruit ones where they mix it in, mango and melon are so yummy!

Needed a treat and was not disappointed with the blackberry. Will definitely go back. Being in the mall makes it easy to grab a snack and wonder around and look at all the sights

This place blows every other frozen yogurt place out of the water. It is sooo tasty! I always make sure to stop here when I go to Vancouver :)

I absolutely love yogen fruz and am only able to have it is when I'm in van city or Chicago, il! They need to expand more! I always get the original with mango! But overall, great frozen yogurt and great service!
