When we queried, she told us they ran out of the produce. We asked for an alternative, she said there's no alternative and laughed. The dish was cancelled but we were over charged when the bill arrived. Neither the waitress nor the arrogant manager apologised for their mistakes. The food was below average, oily and salty. The Pork was so tough we barely touched it. The barramundi fish was quite fishy and not fresh. We will never go back to Fusion again, the experience was awful! We had to take Nan to Mr Stone Bowl (also in Burwood) to have a second meal as we left Fusion upset and hungry! Thanks to Mr Stone Bowl, the night was saved the meal was absolutely delicious and the waitress/waiters were really attentive.
This review had disappeared for me and it was long! I will write the long version but the short version for now is that the food is average, service poor, where else do you have waitresses saying sorry can't help you,I'm busy? And lastly getting ripped off by there banquet meal, when they said its included but later says in Chinese it's this soft drink section, not the other soft drink section you get confused! Also we asked for 1 less rice but they charged like we did and the waitress said she did bring it out. Too bad we never did and argued with management for half a hour over all these problems! Just not worth the stresses you have been warned!
Fusion Cafe is my go to place for Congee in Burwood. Have tried their chicken & abalone mushroom congee, century egg with pork fillet congee and fish fillet in ginger shallot congee. All 3 are very good and come with a side dish. I usually go for the deep fried dough stick or steamed rice rolls. They serve a smaller portion with complimentary Hong Kong style milk tea or Hong Kong style milk expresso at a reduced price for breakfast. Their other dishes don't stand out to me. One thing I don't like is that if they are a bit busy, it can take over 45mins to get served which is very bad especially when they do not let the customer know of the long waiting time when putting the order. I've experienced that twice in about 10 visits:once around 6.30pm on a weeknight and once at 2pm on a Saturday.
Came here in big group and ordered pretty much most of their popular dishes. I don't think Hong Kong style Fusion suits our taste buds. The service is also quite bad. Not only the food came out late., What they serve didn't really match the description on the menu. One of the prawn dish we ordered has no prawns at all. When we dispute it they came out with two pieces of prawn. Bottomline: Below average food. Bad service. Extremely overvalued.
Went here for lunch with my friend a couple of days ago. Was in need of a filling meal and that was exactly what we got! We were greeted by staff who directed us to our tables. The place had a very Hong Kong ambience and they played cute music on one side, and TVBJ (Hong Kong TV) on the other, which reminded me very much of my hometown :--) the food was nice and warm and very filling! On top of that, most items on their menu were set at a reasonable price. Would recommend
