Summerseat Garden Centre - Bury

Lovely Garden Centre friendly and great stock nice to walk around always buy something Farm shop is a great place lots of nice goodies We had Breakfast in the restaurant we were sat down quickly but had a long wait for hot drinks to arrive and dogs at nearly every table a table of ladies having a morning scone and coffees had two dogs which were barking to get up on the knee of course they put them on there knee table level we counted six dogs pass us in the time we were had a breakfast Obviously I love dogs but Garden centre restaurants even garden centres do you really need to take a dog! My husband nearly tripped over another near the toilet Also where is the line drawn on sizes of dogs just put a downer on our visit

Service poor and slow, servers glide along with a smile but don 't see you. Order and pay 1st, so you can 't run away when you see how bad it is. Xmas dinner complete RIP-off. Cold plate, cold food, shredded Brussels, limp carrots, white roasties and 'swipe with a knife ' of mashed potato to top it off, 2 pieces of Turkey settled in a puddle of light brown coloured water. Can 't use the word 'gravy ' just not in that category. Didn 't ask for cranberry ! Service so bad my husband had to go and look where our order was at the service counter. Absolutely terrible. Don 't go, don 't pay for substandard food and service, too expensive, We deserve better

I will not be returning to this restaurant. My meal was prepared incorrectly, the scrambled eggs were burnt and tasted terrible. To make matters worse, it was served by the older woman (who has been mentioned in many negative reviews for her poor attitude) who was hostile, unfriendly, and should not be interacting with customers. This was a terrible experience and has completely deterred me from ever coming back again.

Went for lunch with a family member on Tuesday 14th November 2023. Ordered two jacket potatoes with tuna which we got relatively quickly. However we then wanted to order a dessert. Because no one came over to the table to clear our lunch plates or ask if we wanted to order a dessert. I got up and asked a waitress if she could take our order for two desserts. She said she would come over to our table. This did not happen so I got up on another two occasions and again no one came over to take our order. Absolutely terrible service. We will not be going again to this establishment. Far better years ago when it was self service.

I have visited Summerseat Garden centre for years and always been impressed. However the new arrangement for the cafe/ restaurant is really a big disappointment. The last time I visited I left after waiting for a long time to be served and no one came . Yesterday I visited again with my husband and we were shocked at one very rude member of staff . I don’t agree with paying when you order table service at the beginning as it smacks of the restaurant wanting to grab payment before service. When we asked for extra hot water for our tea at the end of the meal we had to wait a very long time and the waitress remarked’ I’m getting it when I’ve finished serving these other customers. ‘ She brought it and then when my husband said thank you , she turned aggressively towards him and said ‘ pardon ?’very rudely as if trying to provoke an argument. She gave the impression as she was an older lady, that it was not her job to serve anybody. Service is not seen here to be something to take pride in . We left feeling affronted and will not be visiting this cafe again.
