The food was very well presented and the beef shin had a nice taste although a little dry. The cheese and onion pie was overcooked and served with what seemed to be frozen chips. I finished with a latte which was so strong and bitter it was undrinkable. The staff were attentive and replenished drinks when empty. Unfortunately we won’t be returning for food which is.a shame having visited for many years.
Awful, service was very very slow. Zero atmosphere. Food wasn’t nice either looks nothing like the images on Google!!
A party of 6 of us went to the Shoulder last night for New Years Eve. The food and the service were excellent. This is the third time we’ve eaten here in the last month and it’s has been excellent each time.
We called about 12:40 and though the pub appeared empty we were told they couldn 't take 'walk ins '. We were told there were only 2 staff in the kitchen. Perhaps they were preparing for large groups arriving but it seems an odd way to run a business. We went to Hoysters further down at the crossroad junction our first visit and had excellent food and a warm welcome. Glad The Shoulder couldn 't take us as it turned out.
I'm in the minority in finding it disappointing... Especially when bringing in for their birthday and they were disappointed too. This was supporting a client, who is a food lover
