Truly generous servings and the $39 menu for 3 courses has no catch! Great selection, wonderful service and the food is made expertly with love. A definite must when in Busselton! Do yourself a favour and enjoy.
Met with my sister and brother in law for a 39 dollar 3 course meal- the food was unbelievable, and with the low cost we were able afford more wine than usual. For entree we had a share board that had much more than anyone would expect for the price tag, wood fired bread, squid olives dips arancini to name a few of the faresOn offer. My husband had a 300g scotch fillet cooked to absolute perfection, and I had the ocean trout in prosecco butter sauce with fennel salad- perfectly balanced with sweet and tart. My sister and her husband had a prawn and chorizo pizza with chicken that I sampled- it was divine!! With very little room left for dessert I forced down an affogatto- whilst the rest of the table had tiramisu and choc tart. I do t know how this restaurant is making money by providing so much food for thePriceThey charge but it is going to be my regular destination- and I suggest if you travel down south you drop in and treat yourself.Congratulations to ilprimo for being an outstanding place to eat
Went on a trip to the southwest which is rare as we have young children on Saturday the 6th august, after not being in the region for a very long time. I used to surf a lot and stay around the Dunsborough area and was surprised to find it had become somewhat a new Subiaco, so I decided to move toward the Busselton area as it was much more relaxed. I went up the Main Street to see that the old samovar was now a very sterile univiting area for children which almost made me give up completely on eating altogether. I was about to leave bisselton to go toward Bunbury when I spotted a sign advertising Italian food- which is one of our favourites. The restaurant was very hidden as it was behind a motel- but when we entered we were in heaven. A huge log fire roared, and we were greeted by a lovely woman named Anya, who greeted us as if we were lo g lost family. She informed us that the restaurant offered a 39 dollar 3 course menu, or 49 3 course menu- which raised a red flag for me, as no possible way can a business make money without cutting corners- but we were here and I wasn't going to give up an Italian meal if the settings were this good. The menu was unbelievable!!!! I can't even describe to you the choices available for the price, so I suggest just having a look for your own pice of mind. I ordered the most beautiful mushroom and Cabernet Arancini, and the wife had chose north west calamari poached in pomodori sugo- very generous portions. So far so good.... for main I had a medium rare 300g scotch fillet. I am used to having my scotch cooked close to medium rare but this was faultless!!!! Perfect from start to finish, aged perfectly and creamy fat that melted in the mouth, accompanied by a pot of silky jus, pan fried peas and a rich tomato zupetta for the triple cooked potatoes. My wife had the roasted beetroot and preserved lemon risotto with fennel and mascarpone. Between you and me I have never- ever heard her compliment any one or anything, but she was flabbergasted by the quality of this food. After our two courses we were too full to eat the dessert- and to our surprise anya happily packaged it for us to take away- 2 coveture chocolate tarts plated exactly the same way you would expect in a fine dining establishment. I have eaten many places, and I have never been moved to sing praises to anyone like this- but this place will stay in myMind as one of the best places I have eaten- and that includes internationally. I would like to congratulate all the staff involved, as you mus have a very harmonious team- it showed in the food and the service. People reading this- you MUST try ilprimo
Very average food. Nice friendly service. The pumpkin gnocci was hard and tasteless, same for the pizza I had. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant to a friend and wont be going back on our next trip to Busselton
Although a bit hidden behind the motel il Primo was a nice location for a casual meal on a einter night. Staff were friendly and attentive although quite busy. Food choice was mainly padta and pizza but all good as were desserts. Great family or friends location where you are looking for good food.
