Feedback gevenI have been going to Toby's for a number of years as I live next-door it's very convenient), but unfortunately it is very hit and miss. The staff is always good, but the food quality and presentation is very often below average. My feelings are that it should be constantly good. In the last year I have had one of the best steaks with truffle mushroom) ever followed 2 weeks later with definitely one of the worst ever ever steaks .. this shouldn't happen. In Dunsborough there is access to really excellent meat, fish and fresh vegetables so we should always have great food when dining out
We visited the restaurant after the resort where we we staying had no tables left. Toby's staff accommodated us at last minute for a table. The food was lovely and service was actually quicker than what the girls at the counter had said The atmosphere was lovely .
We had the Wife's birthday party there. It was a great night and we were looked after really well. The food was very nice and server by friendly staff. Well done everyone. Thanks Trisha for organising the night.
We stayed at this resort last year and had a great experience with the accommodation, so we decided to visit the restaurant on our most recent trip down south and were extremely disappointed. This is overwhelmingly the worst service we have experienced anywhere in Australia. Although there were two staff looking after a restaurant that never had more than 10 guests at any stage, we had to leave our table on four separate occasions to order a drink, had to walk to the front counter to get a dessert menu and when the wrong dessert eventually found its way to out table, we had to return to the cake display with the waitress to physically point out the dessert that was ordered. Comically, when the icecream that was included with our dessert didn't come out we had to place a separate order and were charged for a third dessert which was very frustrating. We then placed an order for a Jamieson Whiskey at the bar, and the server returned asking us if we ordered a Jagermeister and by this point we were so exasperated that we decided to leave. When it came time to pay, we gave our server a gift voucher and they said that if we wanted the change/credit from the voucher we should email the hotel the following day to organise. To be fair it would be a huge waste of time to even bother.
One of the best meals we have had at a restaurant. Cheesy garlic toast was crispy and piping hot. I had the char grilled steak which was melt in the mouth while my wife went for the seafood papardelle which was delicious. All the food arrived on hot plates so there was no risk of our food getting cold. Will definitely be back.
