The Derby Steakhouse - Butte

We both ordered the 10 oz sirloin, and I added prawns to mine. We requested both steaks to be cooked medium-well, which should include a bit of pink, but they were both overcooked and dry, so we had to use steak sauce. My prawns were served lukewarm, and the breading on the inside was doughy. The baked potato was good, though. On a positive note, our server was very friendly. Overall, it was a dine-in dinner experience.

Good reasonably priced steak house. Somewhat dated but still a very good option for a very good meal. Larger facility than it looks from outside. I'll be back. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

I dined at the bar with my older friend, who has hearing difficulties, and I must say, the bartender/waitress was absolutely incredible. She went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. The steak dinner was fantastic, and the service was superb. Overall, I would rate the food a 5, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 4.

What happened to the pride they used to have at the Derby steak house. We used to live in Butte. Went to the Derby alot to eat. We was excited to come back to eat at the well known, Derby steak house. We came all the way from Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. We got there at the end of Saturday night. First we had a rude waiter/bartender, that made comments about us to the line cook so loud we could hear him. Even the help heard him say what he said. She said he was rude, she apologized like 3 times. I asked her to report him to the manager, she did go tell some one in charge, just seen them stand and look our way when she told the manager. Normally the manager would have come an offered an apology. Not here. The most horrifying thing was that one of the grill cooks sneezing like three times over the grill without even turning away from the grill. We was in the bar where we could see everything. This all took place within 30 minutes.

I ordered a $32 steak and got mostly gristle and fat... I also ordered it medium, and it came back rare AF... the baked potato was plain and bare bones... for a steakhouse, I would expect at least butter and sour cream, but the butter was bread butter in a single serve package that came to the table with the bread. I ate what I could because I was in a rush, but definitely will NOT be coming back here... Service: Dine in
