The beef and potato pasties with brown gravy were absolutely delicious! I’ll definitely need to return to try the tamales.
I first tried a tamale from Truzzolino's in the early 60s, and it was fantastic—loaded with meat and accompanied by a delicious sauce, all wrapped in cornmeal. After living out of state for several years, I hadn’t had one in ages. When I returned, I stumbled upon a tamale in the frozen section of my local grocery store and bought it with high hopes. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst thing I've eaten in a long time. It was greasy and filled with some sort of mushy meat, complete with bone fragments. I'm really concerned about how it might affect my health. I definitely won't be buying any more of these; they were truly disappointing.
I wouldn't exactly call it a tamale (coming from the South), more like a tamale paste. It would be great if served with chips! The Reuben pastry was tasty, especially with the brown gravy. Overall, I wasn't very impressed. I think it's a bit overpriced by a few dollars, in my opinion.
The most famous food in Butte, Montana. Make sure you pronounce it the right way. PASTY
