My company organizes a monthly dinner ride during the summer, and in the summer of 2008, we decided to choose The Chatterbox as our dinner destination for a group of about 20 people. The atmosphere was charming, casual, and inviting, with a friendly waitstaff. The food was absolutely wonderful, including the delightful homemade cakes for dessert.

I found the best roasted catfish in northern Mississippi. The portion sizes are impressive for the price. This place is definitely off the beaten path! I'm going back tonight to try the steak!

I went for the fried catfish, and I was not disappointed. If you're looking for authentic Southern-fried catfish with a cornmeal breading, you will be pleased. The hushpuppies were fantastic, but I wish there had been more—I only had two, and I don't even recall seeing them on the appetizer menu. The fried okra was a bit of a letdown; it was battered differently than I had expected, and it didn't quite match the quality of the catfish. The Mississippi Mud cake was also disappointing, as it turned out to be quite dry. However, the rest of my party seemed to enjoy their desserts. Overall, I had a great experience, but if you're planning to have dessert, make sure to choose wisely before you indulge!

When I first laid eyes on the building, I knew I had found the right spot. It was definitely worth the trip. The ribeyes were cooked to a perfect medium, and the fish was seasoned just right. The toast was buttery and delicious. While the beef had a touch of sweetness that wasn't quite to my liking, it was still enjoyable. The highlight of the evening was the fried Jack cheese bites, which were fantastic. I also had a slice of her homemade carrot cake, and it was outstanding. I highly recommend this place!
