I woke up around 1:00 AM and didn't want to get dressed and wait for someone to come fix it, so we just dealt with it. I mentioned the issue to the front desk manager when we checked out on Sunday, and she assured me someone would reach out about it. A week went by without any follow-up, so I called the hotel. The person I spoke with claimed they had no knowledge of the situation but promised someone would get back to me. Another week passed, and I had to call again. When I finally reached the manager on duty that day, she admitted she had forgotten to return my call and stated that everything was working fine when they checked the heating. I'm left confused as to why my heating didn't work if they were showing proper functionality. Overall, I found the customer service to be disappointing, and I won't be returning.
We were pleasantly surprised by the MacKenzie Lodge. Although it's an older property, it has been nicely updated. There's no elevator, but the staff was very helpful, and the room was beautiful. Having visited Caberfae for decades, we never stayed overnight before, and we're glad we finally did. We even had the manager help us carry our bags to our room on the second floor! We loved the hot tub, though we think 104 degrees would be better than 102. We enjoyed great meals at the Beaties restaurant located in the hotel for both breakfast and dinner. We'll definitely be back, even though we're less than 2 hours away!
I absolutely love this place! It offers the best prices for skiing in Michigan. There are plenty of indoor areas to warm up, grab a meal, or enjoy a beer. I really appreciate how they ensure that people don't camp out at the tables. The food is always excellent!
Wedding arrangements seemed well organised and efficient. Beautiful landscape design for outdoor wedding. Dance floor extremely small . Staff friendly and with good customer service available. Hotel Rooms in Lodge for overnight stays. Room is large. Very clean. No coffee machine. Mattress was too big for boxspring. Very unpleasant for 2 in a queen bed. There are 3 stories not elevator. A fairly long ascent with luggage. I felt bad for older customers. Very expensive for quality and comfort I would rather sleep in a camper.
No elevator and no ground floor rooms at this “resort”. Needed to share the balcony. No coffee makers in the rooms. Restaurant and food not available. Pop tarts were the complimentary breakfast. Redeeming factor was the hot tub!!
