Compared to before, the tapa is such a big let down now - the way it was cooked and how small the serving was. Before, it was THE only best tapa/tapsilog for me. Not anymore.
We ordered tapsilog and sinigya na maya maya. First, the tapsilog is like an ordinary tapsilog, nothing special.the meat is not that soft when chewed and is too sweet. The food is oily. Tge sinigang is also oily and the vegetables is not that fresh....More
Their specialty tapsilog is fair. Not that good and not bad for its price. You'd expect more taste from their banner meal. The other dishes are hit and miss like the chicken or pork adobo, adobong pusit, sinigang, etc. Sometimes it tastes good and sometimes not so good. Hoping for more consistency on the good side. Their bulalo is overpriced at more than 200 pesos! Same price as the competitive bulalos in Tagaytay! And it doesn't taste good. Tastes just like your regular nilagang baka with the added bone marrow. As in all ready to eat food restaurants, it is not advisable eating in the wee hours of the morning as the food is no longer freshly cooked. We even had a dish replaced because it was on its way to rot. For a glorified carinderia, Tapsi ni Vivian is not affordable. The only advantage is that it is open 24 hours.
Tapsi Ni Vivian used to be our favorite breakfast destination. We love their Tapsilog meal and serving time is super fast - even on busy days. My only issue is that their serving size seemed to have been decreased. Other than that, it's a great place to eat!
