Salt - Calabasas

Service ever! worst sa for 15 minutes without ever seeing a server or being welcomed by others than the busboy. had to ask the busboy who was our server. apparently it was the owner who was also barely neigent and care (or should I say neglect) 8 tables. when the busboy tried to tell him that our table needed the attention that the owner brushed from the busboy and continued talking to friends. we have gone out.

I was very disappointed to find the restaurant closed after they approved my reservation and I drove all the way from van nuys to calabasas! I called the owner later this day and said he was going to drop and call me back, but he never did. that is not professional and not acceptable.

The decor is artistically industrial, but it feels pretty like a large room at the end of a stripe. the management could add a little interest in the space by breaking up and adding a wall or curtain to block the view back into the stripe plaza. the windows look on a müllcontainer and the lower parking space. the portions were large and the eating was solid prepared and presented, but some of the menu points seem a little too hard to impress. on Saturday evening we have dined there early at 18:45 clock, they were from the ribeye (one of two steaks on the menu) and had no mint on the hand to make a mojito. they have a decent selection of beating at the bar and some beautiful cocktails. this would be a decent place to take children, especially because it's loud and full. Overall, I think they go for hip and cool, but there are better options in the old town calabasas, malibu or westlake village.

We had dined at SALT once before and it was excellent. This time, the artichoke was delicious, but the turkey on the salad was rock hard and the server did not get our orders correct. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and comfortable. The salad was very disappointing.

Great local food, good ambient and attentive waiting staff.
