There seemed to be a lot of Italians also eating lunch here and if the locals eat there its always a good thing! Initially the waiter seemed a bit stand off ish when we asked for the English menu but after ordering in broken Italian/ English he was extremely friendly and appreciative of our effort to try and speak the language (even if it was poor! . We tried the scampi and mussels in tomato sauce for starter shared between four it was more than enough and absolutely delicious, so fresh. For mains we had a fritto misto, seafood risotto and crab linguine again, absolutely delicious and so fresh. An idealic setting right on the harbour front so you can watch the boats and people swimming whilst eating your lunch.
One of the few places one can find close by Sferracavallo square, in Palermo, by the sea side. It’s not supposed to be fancy, and it’s not. Value for money (ask for the receipt), big portions and fish food are the essentials for this joint , that is never short of customers.
Located on the edge of Palermo, airport side, this busy little village is thankfully tourist free in October so you can get a table with a fantastic view of the sea at this restaurant and if you lean to the right a bit get a view of the ladies island where unfaithful wives were marooned (apparently). You would come here for seafood such as sea urchins or octopus (ugh) which I think are vastly over rated but I came here for the panelle- small pieces of fried chick pea and mozzarella balls in bread crumbs- and then the unvarying panini- the same wherever you go in Italy. Don't Italians tire of cheese and salami? Anyway the view and weather were great.
Excellent reception, bread of mussels and the first dishes, the red wine of the house is good, moderate prices. recommended recommended
