Possibly the worst dining experience I've ever had in Calgary. Waited 45 minutes for our table, even though we had a reservation. Once seated waited another 15 minutes before we were given menus. Another 10 minutes after that for a single bottle of wine. Everything was under seasoned. All proteins were over cooked and dry. We were never checked on to see how our evening was going. I understand that this venue has only been re opened for a short amount of time, but not once was it ever acknowledged that this is not how a Big Taste dining experience should ever be executed. If at any point a member of the staff had apologized for the wait, or said thank you for your patience and understanding, it would have made all the difference in the world.
The lack of service or even the lack of attention to any of their patrons. Understanding only have been open for 10days and having to mend out all the kinks in service. I would of hoped that the service would of been over the top, or even on the annoying side to show that they cared about bring in new guest. But it was the total opposite. After having a reservation and having to wait an hr to even be seated, but this place doesn't have tables large enough to seat any parties larger then 4 people. After having to squish around a 4 seated table that they pulled an extra chair to make 5. We waited another 10-15mins for a wine menu. Our waiter, came and poured us water but only had enough in his jug to fill 4 glasses and he never came back to fill the 5th. Ordering was easy as it is taste of Calgary week and it's a set menu. It took quiet along time for our salad and soups to come out. The salad and soup side were a disappointment. Maybe due to the long long wait we have already endure and we were all starving. Entrees were bland and overcooked. We all ordered different items so we had a little taste of everything offered and nothing, NOTHING was worth mentioning again or to even go in for a second bite, except only to feed our starving tummies. I had put all my hope into dessert, creme brulee and cheesecake how could you go wrong. But I was yet again utterly disappointed and upset at this point. The brulee was chalky and was the same size as my small soup. And through this whole dining experience not our waiter or even a manager come to see how anything was. Im sure in the serving world after 2 bites you check on your table. For a place that had only been open for 10days I would of hoped you would want to give your patrons the best experience; they are the ones that are going to keep you in business and this place seem to not care one bit.
This was the most disappointing meal I have ever had in Calgary. In addition to the food disappointment, the server clearly noticed we were not happy and took no ownership of the amount of time we waited, the lack of service and all around poor experience. I will never return and I will not advise others to give this place a try simply not worth your time or money.
