Given it was my first try dont have anything to compare it to but the two soups (Inferno chefs special) were tasty and I would absolutely try ramen again at another restaurant for comparison $14 seemed a lot for soup, but very filling. Also had duck confit tacos as an appetizer - very flavourful, interesting presentation. Limited wine/beer menu, very exoensive bar menu. Atmosphere would have been better with more customers there - we were only ones dining on a Sunday night at 6pm which I found surprising. They have a sushi burrito which sounds interesting. Give it a try.
Staff were wonderful, great atmosphere and location. Unfortunately, our food was not up to expectation given the price. Ramen tasted like packaged instant noodles, instead of having a rich bone-type broth. Appetizer was pricey for the small quantity. Lastly, japadog was disappointing and the mayo was too oily. Menu items looked fresh and interesting though it didn't totally deliver.
Business experience, meets service experience, meets culinary experience.I was super excited to check out this venue. I happen to LOVE Beef Tataki and Creme Brûlée - both of which were on the menu!Visited the restaurant on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Sat at the bar, which gave us a front-row seat of the Chef in the kitchen, as well as let us people watch through the big window. We started with a Buddha Beer, a red wine and the Beef Tatakti - mmmmm! The garlic chips are almost addicting...Husband ordered a Ramen with a chicken base and added a chicken thigh - crispy deliciousness. He didn't speak until he was done with it - it was that good. The Soy Chicken was recommended to me - and I was happy I made that choice. Chicken was done to perfection - crispy skin and juicy meat. The soy-ginger-garlic sauce that accompanied the dish, was unreal!Topping off our lunch date, was a the Yuzu Creme Brûlée - not-too-sweet, creamy, slight tang, and perfectly caramelized topping.YUM!!Looking forward to our next stop into 5S17!!
We stopped by for an evening meal and were treated to some delicious dishes. We had appetizers (edamame, pork dumpling, and beef tataki), main course (Teriyaki burgers) and desserts (Yuzu creme brulee and baked cheesecake); each dish was beautifully presented and as tasted as good as they looked. The fries were thin, crispy and tasty - they come with a spiced mayonnaise that had us wanting to clean the dish with our fingers! Our server was friendly, and the owner/chef visited our table and took the time to visit with us and pose for photos. This was our first time at 5S17 and it certainly won't be our last!
We had a wonderful meal, the appetizer was wonderful. I had the soy chicken and my hubby had the teriyaki burger followed by Yusu creme brulee!!!! Excellent service and excellent food!
