What a treat this was !First thing I noticed was that the tables were NOT crammed together to get as many guests in as possible to help that bottom dollar,...space brings a little more privacy. The waiter may have been the owner, if he wasn't , then he is what all owners would like, someone that takes a personal interest in customer service. Unique offerings on a weekly changing and unique ordering procedure. I am no foodie connoisseur , but I do believe in presentation being a big deal, and this Chef/artist did not disappoint! Now when given the opportunity to present different flavours to a customer, it is not uncommon for a chef to present these flavours in an over-powering manner, which is not only downright silly, but it can take away from the other flavours that are being presented! There was a very pleasant array of flavours that gave the guest an opportunity to enjoy with the tongue the same way a picture can be a feast for the eyes.very nice indeed!we WILL be back!
Definitely a foodie destination as one of the best culinary experiences in the city. Three and five course tasting menu that rotates weekly. The most impressive thing is each dish is hand prepared and presented literally picture perfect French Laundry stile. Won't describe the dishes but each was unique with multiple flavours and textures bursting off your palate. They make their own butter and bread which leaves you wanting more (and more). The food is why you are going as the service is adequate and the dining room ambience OK. Go for the incredible food experience and just accept it is pricy for the neighbourhood and the portions are small. They also have a great wine list and outdoor patio.
My husband and I enjoyed a very memorable meal that was beyond what we expected. Everything was top notch; the food, the wine, and the service! We had the five course meal with the optional wine pairings. So tasty, so savoury, so wonderful. It was a luxury meal with a premium price but we felt it was worth it. We will definitely be back in the early fall to see what inspiration the changing of the seasons brings to the kitchen of Anew Table.
Came here based on the lovely ratings. It was definitely not close to the city center and many locals, including the taxi driver, asked us how in the world we found this place. The restaurant on a Friday night was about half-full at all times and one of the major driving factors was the slow service. I don't mind a slower meal but this was very very slow. Many diners kept looking around for the next dish and one person even left early with his food to go as it took a while. The starter and second dish of a 5 course prix fixe were delicious. The rest was average. I would say it might be worth a try if you live in Calgary but otherwise there is probably the same or better closer to city center.
This is a hidden gem in fun Marda Loop. The ambience is casual, modern, and warm and elegant (don't know how they did it, but they did.)! It didn't hurt that the sun was streaming in through the windows either. Service is top notch - friendly but very professional. The food....ah the food. Every mouthful was delicious - a conjunction of flavours that loved to dance together on my palate. We will be back, oh yah!Know this is a set menu restaurant, choices for 3 course or 5 course meal. That being said it was very hard to choose because everything looked so good!
