Blanco Cantina – Calgary Kensington

Awesome deals during Tuesday Happy Hour! 1/2 off Taco Tuesday $6 Margs/Beer! The space is a bit small compared to other locations and reservation is a must. Their brisket and ground pork meats was dry and not appetizing. Their Crispy Tilapia taco was okay though. My friend brought his baby with him and servers were okay with it so that?s a win ????. Obviously, parking is horrible in Kensington during rush hour so plan ahead and carpool.

I absolutely loved the guacamole! We ordered a few appetizers to share so we could sample different items from the menu. The wings were fantastic, especially the spicy maple flavor. I also enjoyed the fries topped with cheese and guacamole; it was like having nachos but with potatoes instead of tortilla chips. I highly recommend this place!

During our first visit to Calgary from Toronto, our family of four had a wonderful experience at the restaurant. We enjoyed the half-price tacos, and I must say, I had the best spicy margarita of my life! The tilapia tacos were our favorite dish. We also loved the continuous stream of hip hop music playing in the background. Overall, great job! A special shoutout to our waiter, Max, for providing excellent service.

Half priced tacos during happy hour are definitely a must! Though the corn tortillas were a bit hard and the crispy tilapia was over deep-fried that it became hard and difficult to chew on. Margaritas are pretty unique and quite good.

Overall, it was almost a fantastic experience. The staff were wonderful—friendly and accommodating. The food was quite tasty, though a bit spicier than expected, even the guacamole, which is usually mild. I was also let down when I was informed they were out of vegan cheese, leaving my burrito a bit bland. However, the mocktail called the TJ drink was excellent. In the end, I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 due to the absence of vegan cheese and the overly spicy guacamole, which I’ve never encountered before since I eat a lot of guacamole. We would definitely consider going back and hope for a better experience next time, especially with more options for those of us who eat plant-based or vegan, as it’s increasingly common nowadays.
