I see the majority of reviews on here are old. Personally I love Buddhas Veggie. I 've never tried anything outside of their more 'traditional ' choices, but I 've never been disappointed. <br/ <br/ My favourite dish is called Buddhas Veggie, named after the restaurant obviously, this dish is incredibly unique and not for picky eaters. It consisted of a medley of different fungi 's and is extremely unique to this restaurant. If you 're feeling adventurous give it a try! <br/ <br/ Pricing wise I can deferent it find cheaper places that have the same theme, but it 's not overly expensive, I would say most of the dishes are overpriced by two to three dollars. They have a lunch special menu though that had a good selection for around $10. They only serve beer and wine as well, a bottle of Stella is $4.50. Very reasonable. <br/ <br/ Overall I will keep coming back to this restaurant when I am craving traditional Chinese. It 's close to the mall so it 's perfect for a pre-shopping lunch.
Hidden Vegetarian gem in Calgary, definitely my new favourite Chinese restaurant. Read the previous reviews and the most common thing everyone raved about was the Veggie ginger beef, and after trying it. I LOVED it, it's soo good, way better than actually beef meat ginger beef. I think once you try veggie ginger beef it doesn't even make you miss the meat.
Love it!. My husband and I are both vegan but we take meat eaters with us as our guests. Seriously the spicy dry ribs (vegan) are to die for meat eaters agree with this too. We love the eel, the ginger beef, oh and did I mention the dry ribs? Dang, now I want some!
Good. We like to eat here once in a while...it specializes in vegetarian food but has meat items on the menu. It's sorta a junk food vegetarian though the food has lots of sugar, salt, and artificial colours/flavours added...so if you are looking for a healthy vegetarian place, this isn't the one for you. <br/ <br/ If you don't mind a bit of junk food once in a while, then this place is good. It has big portions and lots of options. My husband and I can usually share a main dish or we get two and have leftovers. We like the veggie ginger beef and veggie sweet and sour pork.
