Emerald Garden Restaurant Inc - Calgary

We were told the restaurant is now under new management owner and the food was better so decided to give it a try. We ordered Shrimp, Meat, Vegetables and Tofu Hot Pot 八珍豆腐煲 and Poached Chicken in Spicy Sauce 貴妃雞 . For the Hot Pot, the vegetables was bland and the squid was filled with baking soda flavour. Very disappointed since this is a very common dish. I would say one of the worst Shrimp, Meat, Vegetables and Tofu Hot Pot I ever had. Chicken was good, full of spicy sauce flavour, though the skin colour was bright yellow and shiny. This place did do a good job of making this chicken dish. We will come back to try out other dishes.

Nicely done ginger beef and sizzling rice. Spring rolls always decent. Thank you for always being fast,friendly and Consistent. Highly recommend.

I am so sad to say that our favourite Chinese restaurant now has new owners and the food is not as good. I previously gave this restaurant a 5-star rating, but under the new management, I can only give it a 3-star rating. Our favourite dish used to be the salt and pepper squid, but now it has a lot of batter and less of the salt and pepper flavour. Many of the other dishes are not nearly as superb as before. To be fair, the food is still good, but not outstanding. We used to drive across the city to go to this restaurant, but not any more. I'm so sad that the previous owners are gone. I now need to search for a new and exceptional Chinese restaurant.

I'm so sad. I used to love the Macao menu at this restaurant. I lived in Asia for several years and this food was sooo good. Unfortunately they changed hands. I phoned and asked for the Macao menu items and they didn't know what I was talking about. That should have been my first clue. I just assumed a new person was answering the phone. The food came and it was all completely different. I hope they can improve but I will mourn the old food. What I'm I going to do now??? Fortune Food is gone and now Emerald Garden???

This Restaurant is under new management and ownership, unfortunately the food is not the same. Soggy rice and now they added eggs to the rice, ginger beef was soggy, spring rolls uncooked. Will never go back.
