The decor is upmarket for fish and chips but the food remains excellent. Recent menu changes have reduced the size of appetizers without reducing the price but the quality remains the same. Cod and halibut are excellent, the batter light and crisp, the chips good and plentiful. The nushy peas are neither too stiff or too runny, just right. Service is prompt and friendly. The Traditional beer is very well kept. Recommended
Looking for a well prepared fish and chips dinner, we were not disappointed in the food here. The batter on the fish was light and tasty and the chips were well cooked. The server was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely return when we want a fish and chips meal.
Very good and enjoyable meal. Good selection of meals and reasonably priced and well cooked. Friendly service and clean restaurant
You pay top dollar here, and the volume if fish is very, very small. I didn't know it was even possible to slice a piece of fish so thin and then batter it to make it look bigger. The batter taste ok, but I came for the fish, not a hefty portion of deep fried greasy batter. Greasy batter is cheap so I do not know why they charge so much for the meal. Greasy Slimly Batter is too fattening and not really that good for you in the long run. The owners here here have not got the formula right, a fair potion in the meal means the customer will come back for more. I won't be coming back here soon.
Friendly service. As for the food, haven 't tried everything, but for one example: Monday nights are currently 2 x one-piece fish chips. 2 x non-alcohol drinks. And one shared piece of Lemon Meringue pie. $22 total, which is a great bargain. Also fond of the chowder. The appetizer combos. The Westbrook location is our go-to fish chips place in Calgary.
