Original Joe's Restaurant & Bar

Stopped by at 6pm for dinner and to take advantage of 1/2 price bottles of wine on Thursdays. Restaurant was very busy and we chose the first table by the door, next to a large window. We ordered a bottle of Malbec, iced tea, fish and chips and fish tacos with side of baked potato soup. Server was attentive and brought drinks promptly. Food took a little long, but we attributed to how busy restaurant was. When food was delivered, we asked if the light over our table could be turned on as sun was going down and it was very dark. Server then told us that light had not been working got the past 8 months, and that there had been many complaints, but no offer to move us to another table. Server advised that arrangements were being made to have light fixed. Meal was served, however, we had to find a server to provide a soup spoon. Fish and chips were delicious, soup was excellent, but fish tacos were cold, and could not find any evidence of fish. It was pitch dark by now, and we could not see our meal. Compliant to server was explained that they had changed their fish supplier. We hurriedly finished our meal, recorked our wine, paid the bill and left. Will visit regular location in quarry park that is always excellent, but will not return to Mckenzie town location

I find the beer selection good but could be a little bigger. the food is good and the staff and mgmt are very friendly

Great location, Service, and Food. 5 of us stopped in here for dinner and the service was excellent. Food and drinks came out in a timely manner and the server was very friendly and accommodating.Great wine special, if you order a bottle they will re-cork it so you could take it home. (that never happened)Everyone's meal arrived at once, and was very good

Typical bar food. The short ribs were bland, the wings were basic BUT the poutine was very delicious. The restaurant is small and oblong and dark along the wall tables but bright in front by the windows. Clean and nicely decorated. Young friendly staff.

Had the Kona burger. Tasty, well cooked, and came with two tasty sides. The decor was a bit dark but otherwise a pleasant experience.
