Pegasus Restaurant - Calgary

The menu has some things that are unusual but also classic Greek. The portions were small but the food was good. The pita was of a form I am familiar with (didn't like it) but it reminds me that there are regional differences to everything. Staff were great and we had a good time.

We hadn't been to Pegasus since they moved to this location from 14 St. That was many, many years ago! New location is easy to get to, lots of free parking. Staff are very friendly, service was prompt. The restaurant is quite casual, nothing fancy. Food was good but again nothing fancy. They seem to have a brisk take out business as well as eat in. There are several outdoor tables which will be nice in the summer. Lots of selection on the menu, kalamari was nice and crispy, lamb very tender. Food is much better than the fast food restaurants offering Greek food.

The food was good but we had a problem with the accuracy which added 30 minutes to our order. When it arrived we received 3 pieces of pita bread, despite placing an extra order. It's such a shame when a place you enjoy creates a problem, it makes it difficult to return.

Pegasus used to be off 14th Street and 11th Avenue and has moved to a tiny out of the way strip mall. The atmosphere is authentic, the food is amazing. If you are willing to travel to Pegasus and want a special dinner this is your Greek go to.

Whenever we eat at this restaurant, we always leave with completely full stomachs. The pita bread served as part of the appetizer platter is unique, tasty, and filling. Served with Tzatziki, Hummous, and Banana Pepper spread is the way to go. My wife ordered a small Greek salad as she was not too hungry. It was huge! I had my "go to" dish, Pastitsio. This is a hearty helping of home food style noodles with bolognese in a loaf shaped serving. And the service provided by Nate and Rose is superb.
