WTF?! They completely changed the menu and got rid of all their omelettes???? White Spot, your breakfast offerings are terrible now.
We recently moved to Calgary from Vancouver and the sustained weeks of sub-zero temperatures had me longing for the west coast.
I got fish and chips for dinner. the fish was a pleasant surprise. Calgary is the home of the paper-thin fish portions buried in way-too-thick batter. This fish was reasonably sized and well-battered...crispy and not doughy. My wife had a burger which she was very happy with.So why the 2 stars? The fries were miserable. They were mushy inside, the outside was wrinkled, and they were lukewarm. There was no sheen to the look of them, no hint that they had just come out of hot oil. I ordered more hoping to get a fresher batch. The plate came out hot to the touch and with the same dry, withered looking potatoes. Can you say microwave"?My wife got rotten lettuce in her salad. She sent it back and the replacement also had rotten lettuce. The restaurant makes a point of the freshness of their food. That wasn't the case. It's too bad. The service was good, the staff was accommodating (they comped my wife's meal after the two bad salads,) the soup was good. This should have been a 4 star review. I would suggest that someone check the salads throughout the day for mushy greens, and that the management take a short ride up to Canadian Tire and try the truly fresh fries from the chip truck in the parking lot.
The White spot was a main stay while going to high school, it also helped pay my bills, the food is still excellent,
