The Creek House Grill - Callicoon

The bartender, waitress, and hostess were all fantastic. I ordered the burger while my wife had the fried chicken and mac and cheese. Both dishes were delicious, and the burger was cooked to perfection!

First of all, I want to express my gratitude to the entire staff. The food was incredible, and the drinks were outstanding. I especially want to thank our waitress for being both professional and funny; she made the experience truly enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone who happens to be nearby.

Next, I ordered the shrimp Po' Boy. To my surprise, it arrived as an open-faced sandwich on a roll that seemed more suited for a small lobster roll, which is also on the menu. A true Po' Boy typically features a fresh baguette that's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Admittedly, in our small town of Callicoon, accessing such a delicacy might be challenging, but I think they could have made more of an effort. Because the roll was so small, I struggled to create a proper sandwich without having to “perform surgery” on the components. After cutting up the large but flavorful tomato, I attempted to fold the rest of the ingredients into the tiny roll, resulting in quite a mess, though it was tasty. We also had the steak, which was cooked perfectly and full of flavor, accompanied by a side of macaroni and cheese that was quite good. Unfortunately, like many places these days, they were short-staffed. The two waitresses were hustling as best they could, but the absence of a bartender in a bar-heavy setting added to their stress. If I could give a half star, I would rate this a 3.5 because the food was delicious and the staff was really friendly. The prices were a little high, but I would certainly return.

Such a shame! Been here twice. The service is TERRIBLE! but the food is AMAZING! Such a contradiction. They really need to hire more people or the manager or owner should be there since it seems like the 2 girls are running the show. They're running around the place like crazy, trying their best, constantly apologizing for the MASSIVE delay on EVERYTHING, one girl was definitely crying in the bathroom, but once you get your food, you forget it all. Just has such great potential to do so much better. We wanted more drinks and dessert but we figured it would take too long. the Mac and cheese, fried chicken, lobster roll, NY Strip Steak are all amazingly delicious.

April is an outstanding host who always enhances my experience at the restaurant. The chefs are exceptional, the portion sizes are generous, and the meals are of high quality. I would give it ten stars!
