The chili, a family recipe, was simply fantastic. If you're in the mood for a drink, I highly recommend the Dark and Stormy cocktail, made with spiced rum, ginger beer, and lime. Two members of our group enjoyed the Alaskan cod fish and chips, while another opted for the shrimp cocktail. This cozy spot is perfect for both locals and visitors from Texas like ourselves. It features TVs for watching sports and classic shows, and you can warm up by the large fireplace on chilly days. Don't forget to ask Vicki about the photos on the mantle of her husband, Gary, alongside two golf and NFL legends. I only wish we had the chance to return for dinner. I highly recommend the West End Bar and Grill in Cambria, California!
Absolutely fantastic! I believe the owners are Vicky and Gary, and they are such wonderful people. Patty was our server, and she was very attentive. We decided on dinner at 8 a.m., and Gary welcomed us right away! I had the best ribeye and baked potato. I didn’t initially plan on ordering clam chowder, but this place serves a wonderfully thick chowder. Oh my goodness, I would definitely go back. I almost forgot to mention the coconut dish – WOW! It was crispy, and the apricot jam was so simple yet perfectly paired with the coconut. Great job!
I've visited Cambria a few times, and it's quickly becoming one of my favorites! I know I can count on them for great food and excellent beer. On my most recent visit, I ordered the fish and chips, and they were fresh and delicious, paired with a takeout El Jefe beer. My husband had a chicken and mushroom sandwich that looked amazing! I'm not usually a fan of coconut shrimp—it's the one way I typically won't eat shrimp—but my husband ordered some, and I have to say, this might be the only place where I'll eat coconut shrimp because it was absolutely delicious!
We were pleasantly surprised to stop here for a bite for dinner. Some of the other restaurants in the area were ghost towns and were not the biggest. Others were busy and waiting was too long. Our server was really nice. The food was very delicious. We ordered her Alaska-Kid. It was buttery and delicious. Also ordered their beef dip and cod sandwich with frits. They were delicious and we are seasoned. The atmosphere reminded me of the TV show Cheers, where everyone knows your name. Love it!
Delicious food and fantastic service! The variety of beers and alcoholic drinks is impressive, yet the atmosphere is family-friendly. I will definitely return! Thank you, Robin!
