Hi-rise Bread Company - Cambridge

It does not explicitly say but you HAVE to order online. It was fairly easy to order online and then you have to wait near the door until your order is ready. I ordered an iced coffee, a chocolate cork and a loaf. The loaf was mediocre but the cork was out of this world! I'll definitely be back for more.

Got this for takeout at work because my colleague was craving sandwiches. This is ONE OF THE BEST SANDWICHES I'VE EVER HAD. I ordered #64 the Jeneric. The roast pork is SO tender, just falls to pieces with each bite. The combo of flavors work so well together especially roasted red pepper, soft caramelized onion, with the crunch of the arugula. Sourdough was nicely made and toasted. The only thing was this was a pricey sandwich $16 online order for whole sandwich, $9 for half). I can't speak to anything else on the menu or the dine in service. Would definitely welcome the chance to try other items on the menu.

Good cortado/cappuccino. No wifi. Nice Baristas. Clean. Good seating for discussions. Average pricing.

Everything here is a solid 3. The service wasn't great and my food/ coffee took forever! The iced coffee was average. The sandwich I got (ham egg and cheese) was very mediocre and a little burnt. Only came here because I forgot breakfast and it was the closest option in the area (probably the only reason I'd go back). Tables are smallish and there is some high top seating but there is no WiFi so I didn't stay long.

Hi-Rise is one of those go-to spots for people at my school. Just a couple minutes away from campus with indoor and outdoor seating (for those last few weeks of the semester when Boston is finally warm enough) and open all day for food or beverages. The sandwiches are tasty! Not as good as Flour, but they do the trick and are super filling. They have vegetarian options and anything they make with sweet potato is usually on point. Their breakfast sandwich is also delicious. I also love that when you get tea here it comes in a teapot and you can slowly sip it at a table by the soothing, flowery wall paper. I've never had a problem here with the staff! Food usually comes out decently fast and they've always been friendly. Solid spot to come for lunch or tea.
