The Square Tavern - Camden

The restaurant is situated in a lovely location, on a peaceful square. We have visited before for drinks on Fridays but had never tried the food. On Friday, October 20, 2023, we decided to order two meals. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes for our food to arrive, as there was only one chef in the kitchen. It would have been appreciated if they had informed us in advance, as we would have just ordered chips instead. The woman at the bar then had the nerve to question if we had ordered from the lunch menu. Let me make one thing clear: when I order food and it is accepted and payment is taken, it is a valid order. Do you understand? Also, charging £35 for a bottle of Cava is outrageous!

We waited over 45 minutes for our dinner. When it was ready the stuff didn't know that we had ordered at all so we hade to go to them and tell them. The sirloin was all grey and dry (ordered medium), the pork tomahawk was so dry that I barely couldn't cut through it. We leaved without eating. Terrible service and really bad food. So sad because the location was perfect.

We have found a new favorite spot in our neighborhood since our office moved to the area. The Square Tavern is a fantastic hidden gem near Euston Square, Euston, and Warren Street stations. The atmosphere is welcoming and the outstanding Irena and her amazing team always take great care of us. We had our departmental Christmas lunch there last December (catered by FAIM next door), but The Square Tavern is our top choice for a night out. They offer a great selection of food and drinks as well. Highly recommend. Xxx

My family and I went to this restaurant for dinner and had an amazing experience. The food was excellent, the service was top-notch, the restaurant was very clean, and we were pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem. We tried a variety of dishes and had no complaints. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.

I was part of a group of about 20 (including 10 kids who were between the ages of 9 months 14 years old) who had dinner at the Square Tavern last Friday. The service was excellent, and they looked after the kids extremely well with coloring pencils, puzzles etc. to keep them entertained. One of the kids dropped his meal on the floor, they immediately and quickly prepared him another without us having to ask. The food was great, most us had the chicken schnitzel which was fantastic, fish and chips also got good reviews. Good beer selection, nice atmosphere, extremely good staff, highly recommend this place especially if you have kids.
