We stopped here for lunch with our group of fellow ‘pilgrims’ when walking the Portuguese Camino. The food was good and plentiful rather than particularly special, but helped set us up for the afternoon’s trek.
The accommodation and restaurant are of a very high quality. The food is fresh Anne cooked by a high class chef. Service is impeccable and many languages are spoken by staff. Events can be held there are after many years their excellent reputation precedes them. Highly recommended!
Most likely a very good restaurant. We stayed at the hotel and wanted to check out its restaurant because it looked nice and the food which they serve there seems to be a bit more sophisticated than elsewhere on our pilgrimage journey through northern portugal. Sad enough that, when we arrived at 7:30 PM, there were only few guests seated at two tables. And by the time we left the restaurant at 9 PM all tables got seaten but furthermore served their food too. We showed quite some patience, but when approximately an hour later we asked the waiter when we will get ours, his answer was in a few minutes . After another half an hour of neglecting us, we decided to leave for good. Very disapointing, especially since we were really looking forward to it.
It's not easy to find traditional Portuguese food of good quality in a hotel restaurant. It doesn't happen here. The relation quality/price is great. You can eat very well at very affordable prices in a nice and cosy restaurant with good service. Don't miss it if you are in Vila Praia.
