Service is hit and miss(but I don’t really mind), and the prices have gotten a little tourist-y. A definite must-stop for the Apple Hill visitor that enjoys hard cider.Kid-friendliness: Lots of attractions for kids
Enjoyed the $15 flight options for hard cider and/or non-alcoholic drinks and the plentiful picnic tables to sit at! We arrived before the noon rush, so there wasn't a line for the cider bar at that time. The bakery options were pretty slim when we arrived, but there were ample fresh and frozen juices (non-alcoholic) in half gallon and pint sizes for us to bring home. There were two food trucks (tacos and pizza) available that Saturday, and as a heads up to other folks: I don't think outside food is allowed here (which should be listed on their website so potential customers can plan their visit/day accordingly).
We wanted to check out Hidden Star on a recent Apple Hill trip. I was interested in both the bakery and the variety of hard ciders available.Maybe it was because we went in the afternoon but the bakery seemed pretty limited. Just a few pies and donuts and handful of other baked goods. We decided to skip that and instead grabbed a flight. The cider flight was worth the stop. They have over 20 varieties and you can pick four for $15. Some varieties are semi sweet and others are semi dry. We tried the codes with passionfruit, lychee and pineapple, ginger and lemon, and bourbon whiskey and jalapeno. All were pretty good but I would probably skip the ginger one and try something different next time as the ginger flavor was too strong for me. You can also buy prebottled hard ciders to enjoy later. They also have two food trucks on site, and a large parking lot. There's a large (private) play area near the property and a few craft vendors. If you like hard cider, I recommend a visit.
What a fun place in Apple Hill for kiddos to run around and play. Took kiddos here to run around and explore. Food they have a wood fire pizza truck there and it was absolutely delicious! The crust was thin light crispy and perfectly cooked. The owner was so friendly so you can't be the service there. But understand that it's self service so the ambience is really carefree and laidback. It's perfect with young kiddos.
Food was subpar, we were accused of using the children’s play area without having made a purchase(despite holding our purchases), there were lipstick stains on our glassware, and an owner named Barbie was wildly rude to us whenever we mentioned any of these issues. I would recommend going to a different orchard.
