Ramones Mexican Bbq - Camp Pendleton

I am only rating as a 3 due to the beautiful location. We were here on Sept 28th after 1:30pm. Ordered nachos which were in my opinion worse than movie theater nachos. My husband had Dave's burrito, the beef and chicken were dry and over cooked as if sitting around for a very long time. For goodness sake do better for the people you are serving who are serving you!

It's a great casual spot for food and drinks! I just wish they had an awning for those sunny days.

So, I'm going to chalk this up to some teenager who doesn't know better. Outside by the condiments there are 3 different hot sauce green, red, and tapatios. These 3 should be placed in ice or at least the green and red. When I told the young lady. She told me the container lid was broken that's why there no ice for them. It's in a metal container what does that matter? You can put ice in it so bacteria will not grow. I think management needs to talk to your people about food hygiene.

You do not often get a lot of dining options on base, and those that are there are usually franchises/chains where you can get the same thing anywhere else. It's nice to have something a little different than burgers and pizza, and baja cali food is perfect for the beach.They offer the typical baja cali/SoCal mexican food. Fish tacos, cali burritos, and carne asada (cali) fries. They were all pretty good and fair for the price. It's also nice to be able to enjoy a margarita right on the beach, the benefits of being on federal property.Overall it's a pretty solid place. The service was pretty fast. Can't be the ambiance since you're right on the beach.

I had high expectations for this restaurant. Situated on the base, it offers fantastic views and has a prime location with an enticing menu. However, I experienced some difficulty while ordering because I was hoping for a more traditional Mexican food selection. I didn't find many options featuring beans or rice. Instead, I opted for Dave's California burrito, which includes French fries, beef, chicken, and cheese – and that’s pretty much it. Was it bad? Not exactly, but it certainly didn't impress me. It seemed to lack soul, authenticity, and flavor. I'm familiar with the Cali burritos found at food trucks, and this one was missing guacamole, as well as some rice and beans, which I would have really appreciated. I know they are putting in a lot of effort to improve, but I believe it would be beneficial for them to elevate their dishes. The green salsa was decent, but I longed for a bit more heat. Sometimes you go in searching for something specific and end up needing to appreciate what is available.
