The host was completely inadequate. The only positive aspect of our experience was the food!

We visited Stratified Counters in February of this year and were amazed by the quality of the food and service. However, this time we were extremely disappointed. All of us ordered the same dishes, but they came out completely different. Perhaps there’s a new chef or a change in how the meals are prepared, but everything fell short of expectations. The French onion soup was barely warm, and the bread was tough. My wife ordered the seashells, which were served with a yellow sauce that she didn’t enjoy at all. Overall, it was a total letdown, especially since we were looking forward to this meal after our previous great experience. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

The website did not mention that there was a prix fixe menu for Christmas, which was disappointing. One of my guests had no vegetarian option available. The scallop appetizer was unpleasant, as the scallops seemed to be spoiled. The bark Wellington did not consist of tenderloin; instead, it was made with boiled pot roast. Overall, it was a disappointing meal for Christmas. Additionally, the drinks my guest ordered were not made correctly. His Old Fashioned was missing the bitters and cherry, and his vodka soda was served in a tall glass but was filled predominantly with soda, leaving little to no vodka.

That was our first time in the restaurant. we will go back! what a wonderful overall experience. the ambiente in the restaurant is like nothing we have seen before. it is beautifully illuminated with almost a “Disney” feeling inside. the whole meal was delicious. the sun choke bisque was very tasteful and light. the puff cerebs were a nice fluffy note. it was a nice start to a meal. the salate was light, fresh and very beautifully dressed. the bacon wrapped scallops were well cooked. the speck was thoroughly cooked without being too crispy, and the scallops were not chewing as we had before. our entrees, my bark wellington and the mush of my man were very well cooked, very tasteful and beautifully presented. the portions were perfect for a escape. the desserts were light and tasty. the whole experience was A-One. our server was attentive without floating. the timing of each course was seamless. our compliments to the chef and kitchen staff. I told my husband that I felt the only one in the restaurant. it felt very special to us both at dinner. we will definitely go back if we can try the regular menu. what a wonderful way to spend our Christmas dinner lesson!

A wonderful experience . Not often are we able to shut out the world and relax with a delightful meal. From beginning to end we were treated as if we were old friends. Quiet and warm , the evening was splendid.... can,t wait to go again.
